the second epistle of paul the apostle
to the thessalonians

Second Thessalonians addresses the Thessalonian Christians' confusion and anxiety about the timing of Christ's Second Coming and the persecution they were facing. Paul clarifies that the Second Coming is preceded by a "falling away" (apostasy) and the revealing of the "man of sin" (Antichrist), who is currently restrained. He encourages them to remain steadfast in their faith, work diligently, and comfort one another with the hope of Christ's return and the judgment of the wicked.
